Dogs, like their human companions come in all shapes and sizes. But just like us, our four legged friends often begin to show the signs of aging: stiff movements, restlessness while sleeping, problems getting comfortable while lying down and general irritability when certain parts of their bodies are touched or exercised.

If your dog is starting to show some joint mobility problems, a good Hip and Joint supplement might be just the ticket to help them regain the flexibility and vigor they showed as puppies. Even before your beloved pooch begins to show the joint mobility issues that nearly all dogs show with age, Glucosamine based formulas can be administered in smaller doses to help prevent joint problems in the future.

Because it comes as a liquid, rather than a pill or a powder, Valridge’s K9 Glucosamine GX is more easily administered to your dog, simply by putting on their food at meal time. No more trying to force a pill down an unwilling patient’s mouth, or trying to hide it in a treat. Simply put the recommended dosage directly on their food before serving it, and your dog will happily take their supplement without a struggle, or wasting half of it on the floor.

Also, scientific studies have shown, that the all-natural liquid formulas like Valridge’s K9 Glucosamine GX are more readily and more efficiently absorbed into your pooch’s circulatory system than a comparable solid supplement. There are no needless additives or unnecessary ingredients in Glucosamine GX, because it is administered as a liquid, the only ingredients are what is necessary for your dog’s continued or returning good joint health. It contains no soy or milk derivatives, no yeast, corn, wheat, gluten salt, starch or sugar.

What are those ingredients?

1.. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), an organosulfur compound that is used to treat osteoarthritis, as an antioxidant and to reduce inflammation of joints in humans as well as animals. MSM is a natural compound found in Swiss Chard and similar “greens” bearing plants. Valridge uses the purest form of sulfur available for the supplement industry.

2.. Glucosamine Hydrochloride is a well-known dietary supplement obtained from the exoskeleton of marine crustaceans, like shrimp and lobsters and is used as a pain reliever/anti-inflammatory in dogs and horses to reduce the pain and ease mobility in the treatment of osteoarthritis.

3.. Chondroitin Sulfate is also used in the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs, and has been shown to relieve some of the pain and inflammation in dog’s joints that were once considered simply a part of the aging process.

4.. Hyaluronic Acid and Manganese Chelate: both of these ingredients are part of the formulation of K9 Glucosamine GX, and are used to treat osteoarthritis and encourage tissue recovery from the damage caused by arthritis.

Valridge did not cut any corners in offering this K9 Glucosamine GX which was designed for your dogs, to help them enjoy better health and movement long into their senior years, ensuring they can still walk, play and even run with you as they did when they were young.

It is now commonly recognized that our body is able to absorb vitamins better in liquid rather than in pill form. Liquid vitamins can bypass the digestive process and go directly into the bloodstream within minutes. In fact, studies have shown that the body absorbs approximately 98 percent of the vitamins and minerals contained in liquid form whereas it may typically only absorb anywhere from 3 to 20 percent of the vitamins in a pill form.

But is that enough to switch from solid pills to liquid supplements?

Some may find that taking liquid vitamins is easier while others may prefer the convenience of taking a series of pills, but as we age, larger pills and gel caps become harder to swallow.

We believe there is another major reason why we should favor certain liquid supplements over pills. Most supplements will include both vital nutrients that keep the body strong and healthy and they are important building blocks of our cells. Some supplements also include antioxidants that play an important role in the prevention of age-related diseases. Cells oxidize when pollutants or diseases strike the body but cells also oxidize by the simple metabolism process. Digestion for example creates free radicals that scavenge for electrons through our cells. Antioxidants are compounds that willingly abandon an extra electron to free radicals so that the cells in our body do not have to go through that sacrifice. Our body needs a constant supply of antioxidants to be able to properly reduce the oxidation of cells. Though pills are beneficial they often bring a spike in the supply of antioxidants and the excess that cannot be processed by the body is eliminated. Liquid supplements on the other hand, allow for the intake to be spread throughout the day.

Choosing a liquid vitamin over pills, when practical, may allow for a more steady supply of these important antioxidants. We firmly believe that it is more beneficial to dilute our daily dose of liquid supplement in a bottle of water and drink it evenly throughout the day.

Always talk to your doctor before making the switch from pill vitamins to liquid vitamins, especially if you are under the care of a doctor for a medical condition as you may run a risk of absorbing too many vitamins which could interact with other drugs or cause a toxin overload in the body.
